NEET Exam Pattern
Understanding NEET exam’s pattern is just like learning the gaming strategy before playing the game. NEET exam is executed in an old school way, you have no online examination here, everything is offline (yes, you are going to use a pen to fill your OMR sheets).
The duration of NEET examination is about 3 hours, 20 minutes. The total number of questions is 200, but wait, you don’t have to answer all 200 questions, only 180 questions are in your court. The total score is 720!
- Physics – 50 questions (you answer 45)
- Chemistry – 50 questions (you answer 45)
- Biology (Botany + Zoology) – 100 questions (you answer 90)
Marking Scheme
- +4 for every correct answer (Woohoo!)
- -1 for every wrong answer (Ouch!)
- 0 for skipping a question (No harm, no foul)
NEET Preparation Tips
Alright, future doctors! You have now started your preparation for NEET, but you can’t start your preparation without better guidance!
NCERT is your holy grail, you can supplement your NEET preparation with other guides. But always remember NCERT should be the high priority.
Practice, Practice, and Then Practice Some More! – Solving previous years' papers and mock tests isn’t optional—it’s your NEET survival kit! Time yourself, analyze mistakes, and get comfortable with the OMR sheet—because even geniuses can mess up bubbling!
Make a Timetable & Actually Follow It! – No, making a timetable isn’t just an excuse to buy cute planners. Set realistic goals, balance all subjects, and schedule revision days—because cramming at the last minute is a recipe for disaster.
Tame the Beast – Physics! – If Physics makes you cry, you’re not alone! Instead of running away, focus on concepts, formulas, and numericals. Solve 100+ questions per chapter, and soon, even those tough problems will bow down to you!
Final Thoughts
NEET is not as difficult as you think! Once you understand the strategy of NEET examination and start your examination with determination, you can ace the exam like a pro.
But, what if you don’t match the soaring cut offs every year? Not everyone wants to pay sky-high private college fees for their medicine aspiration. However, many countries also require NEET qualification to start your medicine journey.
