No Multiple Exam Sessions - Single Shift for NEET
This year in 2025, the NEET exam is going on one shift.
Say goodbye to the idea of multiple exam sessions. This year, NEET UG will be conducted in a single day and shift, giving everyone an equal shot at success (and an equal dose of anxiety).
Do you know what is more exciting? NEET is not digitalized, so it is time to take your pens out because this time you are cracking the exam in pen and paper, old school vibes, right?
Why NEET isn’t Online?
NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a highly competitive exam, and one of its primary objectives is to ensure that students from all economic and social backgrounds, including those from rural and remote areas, have a fair chance to participate. Here's why NEET has not transitioned to a fully online format:
- Digital Divide
India faces a significant digital divide, with many rural areas lacking consistent internet connectivity and access to digital devices like computers or smartphones. Conducting NEET online could disadvantage students from these areas, creating an unequal playing field. - Infrastructure Challenges
Urban centers may have the required infrastructure to support online exams, but rural areas often lack reliable power supply, high-speed internet, and well-equipped centers to conduct such exams. - Inclusivity
NEET’s offline, pen-and-paper mode ensures inclusivity by allowing students from all regions to participate without the added stress of technological limitations. This levels the playing field, especially for those who may not have prior exposure to computer-based testing. - Familiarity with the Format
Many students in rural and economically weaker sections are more comfortable with traditional pen-and-paper exams, as they may not have access to regular computer training or practice. - Security Concerns
Online exams can be vulnerable to technical glitches, hacking, or other security breaches. A pen-and-paper format ensures better control and minimizes risks related to cheating or malpractices.
NEET is Not Just for MBBS!
This is to inform the medical aspirants in India that NEET is not the gateway for MBBS alone.
It is now expanding to nursing. You heard it, right? Military Nursing Service Aspirants should qualify NEET examination to study BSC nursing.
It’s the all-access pass for admission to a bouquet of courses including BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS. Whether you dream of practicing Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, or Homeopathy, this exam is your launchpad.
APAAR ID Meets Aadhaar: The Digital Duo
In a tech-savvy twist, candidates are being encouraged to embrace their APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry).
Think of it as your academic fingerprint—unique, permanent, and incredibly handy. Pair it with your Aadhaar for authentication during the application process, and you’re golden. This integration aims to streamline the system and make life easier for everyone… except maybe your favorite cybercafé uncle.
