The wait between the last paper and the scorecard is the longest stretch in a cost accountant’s journey. For the June 2026 term, that wait ended on 5 August 2026, when the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) declared the CMA Inter result and CMA Final result at around 6:30 AM. If you are tracking cma results for the December 2026 term, this guide covers the exact portal, the steps, the dates, and what to do after the scorecard loads.

Where to Check the CMA Result

ICMAI hosts results on two official domains. Both are valid; the second is the dedicated examination portal.

  • icmai.in - the main institute website, with the result link on the Examination tab

  • eicmai.in - the direct student/examination portal where scorecards, pass lists and rank lists are hosted

You will need your 11-digit Registration / Identification Number. Roll number is useful but the identification number is the primary key.

Steps to Check Your CMA Result 2026

  1. Open icmai.in and click the Examination tab (or go straight to eicmai.in).

  2. Select Results, then the link for your level - Foundation, Intermediate or Final - for the relevant term.

  3. Enter your Identification / Registration Number and any additional credential requested.

  4. Click View Result.

  5. Your scorecard loads on screen with subject-wise marks, group totals and pass status.

  6. Download and print the PDF. Servers slow down in the first hour, so a saved copy saves you a second login.

What your scorecard shows:

  • Candidate name and registration number

  • Paper-wise marks for each subject in the group(s) attempted

  • Group-wise and aggregate totals

  • Qualifying status (Pass / Fail)

  • Rank, where applicable

Passing Criteria: The 40/50 Rule

  • 40% minimum in every individual paper - no exceptions

  • 50% aggregate across all papers in the group attempted

  • Both conditions must be met together; 55% aggregate with a 38 in one paper is still a fail

  • Fail a group and you reappear for that group only in the next session

  • Your CMA result has lifetime validity - there is no expiry on a cleared group

“Students lose groups on the aggregate, not on the toughest paper. Two safe papers at 60 do more for you than one heroic 75 sitting next to a 38.” - Practising Cost Accountant and CMA faculty, Mumbai

June 2026 Results: How the Numbers Looked

The June 2026 session produced 12,105 new qualifiers across both levels - 7,885 completing Intermediate and 4,220 completing Final. The Final level saw a notable swing upward: 975 more qualified Cost Accountants than in December 2025, roughly a 30% rise.

Not Satisfied With Your Marks?

ICMAI does not offer re-evaluation. What it does offer is verification of marks - a re-totalling and a check for unmarked answers.

  • Apply within 30 days of result declaration

  • Applies to the current term only

  • Outcome is a corrected total, not a re-assessment of quality

  • Technical issues with downloading: exam.helpdesk@icmai.in

Registration, Exam Form and Fees: Don’t Confuse the Three

This is where most six-month delays originate. Registration and the exam form are separate steps, each with its own deadline and fee.

Verify all fee figures on icmai.in before paying. ICMAI revises fee heads periodically and cma exam fees are non-refundable in most cases.

“Clearing the exam is step one. The candidates who move fastest are the ones who already know what the credential is for - costing, FP&A, controllership - before the result is out.” - Finance hiring lead, mid-cap manufacturing

After the Result: The Skills Layer That Now Decides Salaries

Passing the ICMA examination puts you in a cohort of roughly twelve thousand qualifiers a year. What separates offers inside that cohort is increasingly technical fluency rather than marks. Cost accountants who can automate a reconciliation, build a dashboard, or run variance analysis at scale are being priced differently from those who cannot.

This is the gap Miles Education works on. Alongside global finance credentials, Miles runs CAIRA - Certified AI-Ready Accountant, a three-level, 90-hour credential built specifically for accountants: AI readiness on the Microsoft stack (Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate), applied AI across audit, tax and controllership, and firm-wide AI operating models. Learners build actual agents in Miles AI Labs - AP three-way match, bank reconciliation, AR follow-up - and earn NASBA-approved CPE credits plus a Credly badge.

For a fresh CMA qualifier, that is a practical next move while you wait for the December cycle or your first offer letter.
